A Look to the Written Past

Typography

A Look to the Written Past is a series of 4 zines that explores the advent of asemic writing, a form of mark-making that is reminiscent of writing, at the turn of the 21st century as a response to writing becoming more computerized in our day-to-day lives. Each zine features a unique cover with a shared typographic layout inside that is reflective of writing in a computerized spaced. In turn, each zine opens up into a unique broadside poster design that is reflective of a hand-rendered asemic writing. The opposing representations of writing on each side of the zines produces a visual metaphor, where the viewer can open up a digitized book and take a look into our written past.
